What is volumetric or mobile mix concrete?
Volumetric concrete – also known as "mobile mix" – is a concrete production method designed for flexibility, waste reduction, precision, and freshness.
Unlike ready mix concrete, this method produces concrete directly at your job site rather than at a batch plant.
Volumetric concrete trucks carry separate compartments for each ingredient: cement, water, sand, and stone. These ingredients are mixed together only when and in the exact quantity needed. This ensures that the concrete is always fresh and has the right consistency while eliminating waste.
Additionally, volumetric concrete trucks offer flexibility as multiple mix designs can be produced from the same truck while on-site and adjusted to suit specific project needs.

Why mix concrete on site instead of delivering pre‑mixed?
With traditional pre‑mixed (drum truck) delivery, the mix is batched at a plant and begins to set during transport, which can reduce workability if there are delays. kreitmaker's on‑site mixing keeps raw ingredients separate until you’re ready, giving you better control over set time, fresh concrete when you need it, and less risk of timing issues slowing your project.

How does kreitmaker mix concrete?
At kreitmaker, we use ready-mix mobile volumetric concrete trucks that carry each ingredient, cement, stone, sand, water, and any admixtures, in separate compartments. The materials are kept separate until they reach your job site, and then the truck mixes them on demand right there. This on‑site batching ensures the concrete is always fresh and tailored to your needs.
For smaller jobs or repairs, kreitmaker also stocks a wide range of bagged cement and concrete products from trusted brands like St. Mary’s, Federal White, Kwik Mix, and Spec Mix, designed to be mixed with water at the job site for projects like sidewalks, footings, or patching. You can get these at our two retail locations in Leaside and Scarborough.
