For nearly a century, Vogelensangh Brick Factory has crafted distinctive handmade bricks using the same traditional methods established in 1918. From locally sourced clay and coal-fired ring kilns to naturally formed colour variations, each Vogelensangh brick reflects a rich heritage of craftsmanship, quality, and sustainability that has been preserved for generations.

The Art of Traditional Coal-Fired Brickmaking

Vogelensangh bricks are crafted using one of the last traditional coal-fired Hoffmann kilns in Europe. Fired over 10 days using a century-old process, each brick develops rich tonal variation, depth, and character that modern manufacturing simply cannot replicate, resulting in genuinely authentic masonry with enduring architectural appeal.

Traditional Coal-Fired Hoffmann Kiln

Bricks are fired in a historic ring kiln using hand-fed coal over a 10-day cycle, creating a slower, more artisanal firing process than modern industrial production.

Naturally Varied Colour & Texture

The movement of heat and flame through the kiln produces unique colour flashes and subtle surface variation, ensuring no two batches are exactly alike.
